Tadhana
As a child, I grew up knowing the tales of terrifying creatures from Philippine origin like the bloodthirsty aswangs and mischief duwendes. I felt like I understood much about my Filipino culture but I wanted to explore more. That’s when I questioned myself, “what was the Philippines like before Spanish colonization?'' and I was opened to a whole new era of unrecognized history and culture. That’s how Tadhana, the comic series, was born!
Tadhana is an ongoing original comic series loosely based on Philippine mythology and lore. The story is set amid the Spanish colonization of the Philippines and follows Tadhana as she goes through a journey to figure out her past connection with anitos, or spirits. Along the way she will encounter Philippine deities, fight terrifying Philippine creatures and discover the truth behind her destiny.
